Sup Ct on Nov 13 rejects petition for rev filed by W T Farr, former reporter for Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, who was cited for contempt for refusing to tell trial judge in C Manson murder case who had given him copy of statement by witness about Manson 'family's' murderous schemes; Ct, by rejecting Farr's appeal, appears to add new limitations on newsmen to its decision of last June that said grand juries might force reporters to disclose confidential information; new development grows out of Amer Bar Assn's new ethical rules that permit judges to order atty's not to give press certain information about cases prior to trial; after judge in Manson case invoked new rule to impose 'gag' order on attys in case, Farr was called in to explain how he had nevertheless obtained copy of witness' statement; Farr has remained free pending Sup Ct's action on his appeal
