Pietro Ferrero (Italian pronunciation: [ˈpjɛːtro ferˈrɛːro]; 2 September 1898 – 2 March 1949) was an Italian businessman who was the founder of Ferrero SpA, an Italian confectionery and chocolatier company. His company invented Nutella, a hazelnut-cream spread, which is now sold in over 160 countries. His company also created Ferrero Rocher, Tic Tacs and the Kinder Chocolate brand.

SAVANNAH, Ga., Sept. 2. -- While Savannah suffered heavily from the cyclone which swept over this section of the coast Wednesday morning, the damage on the coast islands and in the interior as far as the storm reached is probably greater. The flooded condition of the country renders communication difficult, and in many sections it is entirely cut off, and no news has been received to indicate what the conditions are.

LONDON, Sept. 1. -- The War Office was relieved this evening by the receipt of a dispatch from Cairo explaining the sudden interruption of news from the Soudan, which gave rise to some uneasiness yesterday as to the movements of the Anglo-Egyptian column now advancing toward Omdurman under Gen. Sir Herbert Kitchener.
